I don't have the means of going no contact yet but when I do it will be because... There's nothing in this relationship for me. They don't change, the spew the same hurts, the same toxicity over and over and have no desire to change. There is 0 purpose to this relationship other than to cause me pain. I just got the bad luck of being born to them.

I was dealing with verbal and emotional abuse and he started being forceful. The person took my keys, so I couldnt leave and I called a donestic violence shelter and explained what was going on and they laughed at me. It was really funny when I was dealing with health issues when I got out. So yes sometimes different hotlines are not the most sensitive.

I knew a Mr. Right, dropped out of high school and didn't bother pursuing any form of education, trade, or even hobby. Spent his 20's doing measly jobs and barely surviving. His hobbies included coming home from the warehouse, playing video games, drinking, and looking at memes. He quickly dismissed anyone who went the traditional path of education as "slaves". His biggest complaint is that people ostracize him because he didn't go the traditional path of obtaining a "piece of paper" and "going into debt", even though he immediately ostracizes anyone with higher education and quickly describes someone as "intelligent" when he finds out they're a high school drop out. A Mr. Right is one of the most pathetic, hypocritical, and annoying form of abusers... I known him for 10 years and he didn't change his point of view since then. He's 34 now.

Personally this is why I think we’re looking at much true crime through the wrong lens. I think spouse killers, family annihilators and serial killers could be analyzed more effectively if viewed as abusers first and foremost, and as killers second

This makes me wonder.. My boyfriend often responds actively-destructively. He always finds something WRONG I DID in a story I just shared with him and points it out. When I ask him why he does it, he says: "It's for your own good. Someone needs to tell you." And I believe he wants me to learn.. however, his negative approach has made me self-conscious, like I can't trust myself to make the right decisions anymore, I'm scared I'll do something wrong.. So I'm not sure if he's helpful or toxic to me :/

This is SO awesome. Because I've been told I'm "too sensitive" too much in my younger life, almost all people I cared about, respected, and loved treated me with destructive criticism, if not downright abuse. Because of my traumatic upbringing and my mental illness, at 64, I'm still learning it was not OK to be that way. It exacerbated my mental fragility to the point I became disabled and became like my tormentors and started to treat people with the same abusive indifference. I have learned so much from you. Thank you. 😊

Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.

Saying we should take results with a grain of salt because they are based on subject attribution is not saying we should discount accusations of abuse entirely. We should investigate claims of child abuse with as much skepticism as claims of sexual assault. If you give full credence to a type of claim, the claims will be abused for personal gain, just as we saw with the Me Too movement.

I used to do a lot of the passive constructive style because i found most conversations really boring... Later got diagnosed with ADHD and since realised how my attitude towards conversations was unintentionally dismissive (I spent so much time daydreaming that so much of what i did was unintentional). Anyway long story short I give people my undivided attention now
